The small village of Baan Khuk Khak is situated about 4 km north of Ban Bang Niang and features a police station, petrol station, school and a very few simple shops.
The beautiful (four kilometer) beach is 1 km from the village and has a lovely setting, at the edge of the coconut groves and near the mouth of the tiny Khuk Khak river.
This village is actually a small administrative centre for some of the Khao Lak coastline. This is especially the case for the postal system.
Many of the "official" addresses of some of the hotels (and residences) will have a reference to Khuk Khak, even though the hotel is physically situated several kilometers away.
This may be confusing to visitors who are trying to determine the precise location (and beach area) of their hotel.
